Surf Scoter
We were watching all the ducks and gulls in the Holland State Park Channel. We saw one, then two, then four and then five Surf Scoters swim by not too far away from the NOAA Station. This was a rare sight. We usually see them fly-by during migration. They stayed in the channel the rest of the time we were watching the birds.
