Burrowing Owl

Aruba’s National Symbol

Viewed 14 Times

A Burrowing Owl’s pair, one of the two endemic subspecies in Aruba (the other is the Brown-throated Parakeet).
Locally we call this little owl the “Shoco”, as per 2020 there are -an estimated- 150 breeding pairs left.

Glad that they are hanging in there. Hopefully, with people like you to watch over them, they will continue to thrive.
