Neotropic Cormorant

The Catch

By the end of the first quarter of the year, drought has set in on Aruba and most wetlands and salina’s are completely dry (and there are not so many).
Because of the presence of a water treatment plant, only part of the Bubali Bird Sanctuary stays wet year round (although not more than ankle deep). Now, just before the arrival of spring migrants, we see a good concentration of our locals in this area, amongst which the Neotropic Cormorant, who proof to be skilled fishermen. Either solitary or in formation, tilapia cannot hide from these submarines.
