Killdeer sitting on her nest. As I was mowing the yard today, I spotted this Killdeer sitting on her nest about 5 feet out in the field out in the open. She set there as I passed on the mower but if you tried to walk up to her she would walk off acting like she had a broken wing wanting me to follow her to get me away from her nest. She had 3 eggs in the nest. I will try to catch them as they hatch to get a picture of the young.

I love the eyes on Killdeer. When the catch the light they beam back at you. Great story about the pic and the habits of the bird.
