Ruby-crowned Kinglet

I’ll get you my pretty, and your little crown too

I was so delighted to discover one of these tiny little speed demons in my yard for the first time in the spring of 2019. After about an hour trying to photograph it, I was ready to throw my camera in the lake. I had been warned that warblers were difficult, but no one told me about the kinglets. It took a year of trying but I finally got some shots I was happy with this past April, though my ultimate goal is to get a good shot with that ruby crown fully exposed.
