Last year on the fourth of July a large flock of Common Nighthawks flew over my house as I sat on my patio but they were gone before I could grab the camera. At the end of the summer around Labor Day they were back again, this time they hung around a little longer, swirling and diving in the sky catching bugs in mid air. I watched this amazing display of in flight bug catching standing on my second floor balcony and was able to capture a few decent shots of them as they went racing by.
