If it were not for location and the hints of gold in the feathers on the belly, you’d swear this was a Red-bellied Woodpecker. However, I found this bird to be much more approachable and less camera shy than his Midwestern cousins than inhabit my backyard.
I like that red dot at the base of its bill. Nice shot!
