American White Pelicans were very uncommon in Ottawa County, Michigan many years ago. These birds were reported at Chippewa Pt. on Lake Macatawa one evening in April, 2008. On my way to work the next morning, I was lucky they were still there. The conditions were perfect for reflections. I quickly took some photos and headed off to work. Oops, I was a “little” late. Phew, my boss knew I was a birder and was understanding.
