A hummingbird resting in the morning light

Lou Alexander

This is a picture of a hummingbird resting in my neighbor’s garden. The background is actually a light tan wall. Not sure why it rendered this color. I struggled with the amount of negative space in this picture. I tried multiple crops and finally decided I like the leaves on the right.
