A New Loon

We see Common Loons migrate through Chicagoland and they are regularly seen in the northern U.S. states and Canada.  Up in Alaska three additional loon species were observed – the Pacific, Red-throated, and Yellow-billed Loons.  The Pacific Loon was by far the most numerous of the three and our first sight of them was in a park near Anchorage.
