American Goldfinches active at the feeder while Northern Cardinal longingly looks on hoping for his turn. Taken in the winter, there are few color distractions and we get to concentrate on the feather patterns and the almost photo-bomb view of the cardinal. This image is a scan of Black and white film, taken with a Pentax MX and Pentax 400mm lens on Kodak Tri-x 400 film. The images gives a true feel of the earlier days of my Black and white photography hobby and being in the darkroom as the images come to life. Now, of course, Lightroom substitutes for the darkroom.
