Bronze Winged Jacana

This Bird is a tropical wader bird known for its ability to walk on floating aquatic plants because of this unique skill people often call the jacana as jesus bird or lilly trotter. Jacana bird feet have extremely long toes and sharp claws that act like natural snow shoes spreading their weight so they can walk on lily pads and floating plants, their long toes feature specialised pads that increase friction keeping them from slipping on wet and slimy leaves, jacana birds are famous for walking on water and reversing traditional animal gender roles. If threatened by prediator the young jacana chicks can dive beneath water and use their tiny beaks as make shift snorkels to breathe from the surface.
