Bonaparte's Gull
Standing at the top of the “ditch” we were above the water by a good 25 feet. This allowed me to take pictures of this Bonaparte’s Gull from above the bird, which is unusual for a flying bird.

I love the ditch for two reasons… the number of birds that show up there and the fact that we can get shots like these, at eye level with the birds in flight. Great shots!
