When we visited Hatcher Lake outside of Pagosa Springs, CO we couldn’t believe how many Western Grebes were on the lake.  We counted 72 individuals all swimming around on the lake with 23 chicks.  Must be a breeding area for them. We only saw a couple of other species there.
