High On My List

Everyone on the trip to South Africa came with a list of must-see birds.  High on my list was the Hamerkop.  This strange-looking bird has an oversized bill and oriental-looking eyes.  The chocolate colored feathers are not particularly attractive but its overall appearance is sullen and exotic.  Seeing this one bird was almost worth the price of the trip!
