Little Bird, Little Seeds

Mike Warner

This Chipping Sparrow was an early riser feeding.  I look at the line through the eye to determine if it is a Chipping (black line) or Tree (brown line).  The presence of an eye line also helps differentiate it from a Field Sparrow (which also has a pink bill and feet).
