Magnificent Frigate Bird

We spent 8 days in the Galápagos Islands traveling to 10 islands, looking for the special birds on each.

This fabulous male Magnificent Frigate Bird was displaying while nesting on Genovesa Island. I’m fairly certain it was sitting on an egg.

There is also a breeding colony at Ft. Jefferson, Dry Tortugas, in the Florida Keys. You might find that a more accessible destination.
