Yellow-crowned Night-Heron

More Common Down South, Not So Much Here

My wife spotted this Yellow-crowned Night-Heron. It was just about dusk and raining. We told our birding friends about it and before too long 11 people had arrived. This was the first one spotted in that county in over 35 years. It was not to be found the next day.

Wow great find and shot! I didn’t know they even ever came this far north.
