None the Lesser

Mike Warner

The Lesser Goldfinch is a common bird in southern Colorado.  Easily identified by its black head (male), although the female looks more like the goldfinch found east of the mountains.  We found it foraging in the thistle mixed with Pine Siskens and hummingbirds.
