Pied Shag

This small colony was nesting on these boulders near the wastewater ponds, there are NZ Scaup in the foreground. I couldn’t get any closer to this as there were locked gates around the ponds.

Thanks for the shot of the Pied Shag. Why is it that wastewater treatment plants attract so many birds?
