The spot billed pelican or grey pelican is the member of the pelican family it breeds in south asia, iran, india, and Indonesia.It is a large inland bird. This bird is a non migratory bird but are known to make local movements and are more widely disturbed in non breeding season. This species is a colonial breeder often breeding in company of other birds. Their nest are on low trees near wetlands and sometimes near human habitations.
Pelicans have a long been seen as a sign of good luck. In many cultures pelican is seen as a symbol of prosperity, abundance and good fortune. Pelicans are known for their loyalty and sense of community.
