Josh was sure a Spruce Grouse was around and instructed us to stay on the path while he searched.  About 7 minutes later he came and got us and led us about 30 yards into the forest where there was a little clearing.  We found a (presumably) female and chick standing stock-still, and stayed that way for at least 10 minutes – more than enough time for everyone to get a good look at them.
