Turkey Vulture

Turkey Vultures – birds in black and white

With Halloween just around the corner, I thought this shot of turkey vultures roosting on a power tower seemed appropriate. I’ve been saving another photo for over two years for Mike’s second Halloween contest that has never come. Black and white pictures and Halloween go together like the classic Universal horror movies such as Frankenstein and Dracula. Besides the raven, I can’t think of a bird more associated with the morbid nature of Halloween than the vulture.
