Waved Albatross
We spent 8 days in the Galápagos Islands traveling to 10 islands, looking for the special birds on each.
On Isla Española we took a long, almost impossible hike along a path of rough boulders until we arrived at Punta Suarez and the Waved Albatross nesting area. The birds were flying, walking, pairing up and nesting. These birds mate for life and have a lengthy ritual of bobbing heads and clacking beaks to renew their bond. So interesting to watch! I had never seen so many albatross in one area!
