Which One Wednesday – GBH Votes

Last Wednesday I presented four shots of a Great Blue Heron feeding in a march near our friend’s house in The Villages, FL and asked which one was better.  Thanks to all of you who responded!  See the results and comments beneath each of the four pictures.

A.

Nobody voted for A.  Even though the head created a water crater as it dove in, I’m guessing too much of the head is covered and therefore less interesting than the next three.

B.

B had the second-most number of votes.  James D said, “Nice symmetry with the reflection and the reflection is less rippled than other images where the water is more disturbed.  Sue H added that she like the “perfect water circles” in the shot.

C.

C had the third-most number of votes.  Lou A said he liked the water flowing from the beak on this one.

D.

D received the most number of votes.  GMoses said she liked the “mirroring and clarity” of the shot and Ewerth10 liked the water action.

As for me, I like D the best as well.  I like all the water dripping down from the beak and the action of the drips in the water below.  I don’t mind that the reflection is a bit messed up by the water ripples – it helps keep the viewers’ attention on the bird.

Thanks to all who took the time to respond – I appreciate the votes and the comments made.  Another “Which One Wednesday” next week (on Wednesday).
