Bajadreamer has been a regular contributor on GreatBirdPics.com for many years. I love the photos he shares because 1) they are Great Bird Pics (nice and sharp, great compositions), 2) he accompanies each photograph with an interesting anecdote about the shot, and 3) he goes to many exotic locales and get photos of new and wonderful birds. Today I feature three of his latest shots – thanks for sharing, Bajadreamer!
First we have a shot of a Hooded Merganser floating by near his home in California. Wonderful reflection and background and I think the square frame works very well for this shot. Note he says in the picture’s Description (click the pic to read) he was out for two hours trying to get shots of birds in this pond – how many time have you waited two hours to get a Great Bird Pic?
Next we have a great action shot as a Pyrrhuloxia stretches up to grab one of the pyracantha berries hanging there. Read his Description as to why this was a “set up” shot.
Now off to Costa Rica and get a look at this King Vulture! Take a close look at all the colors on its head as it powers its way toward food. The Black Vultures nearby are dwarfed by the size of the King Vulture. Long Live the King! Long live Bajadreamer!
