Birds You May Never Have Heard Of

One of the things that I like about our site is that people from all over the world share their Great Bird Pics with us.  As a result we get to see some birds we might not be familiar with.  Here are four that are new to me.

One of our newest members is sandipgolani from Kolkata, West Bengal, India and he started off with a bang!  Here’s a very nice composition of a Rose-ringed Parakeet he took in Victoria Memorial Gardens.  Click the Pic and welcome him with a Comment.

I may have heard of Shelducks before but not the Paradise Shelduck.  Rebecca Bowater share this pair she saw in New Zealand.

A quick flight over to Australia where Photogirl10 captured the unusual-looking Rajah Shelduck on the shoreline in Queensland (a great city to visit, BTW).

Finally, another unusual bird from Photogirl10 in Victoria, Australia.   Weird-looking bird!  This Tawny Frogmouth looked like it was sitting out in the bright sun.  When there is so much light on a bird you can decrease your Exposure Compensation (EC) or decrease Highlights in post-processing.
