GreatBirdPics’ Bird Photograph of the Week

Our Bird Photograph of the Week comes to us from LinLark, who was making the most out of her Mexican vacation.  She recently submitted several stunning shots but my eye was drawn to this female Vermillion Flycatcher.  The composition almost looks stark, with only the bird and some small branches in the frame.  The branches seem to be thrust up from the bottom corner, only existing to hold the bird up high.  The female of the species isn’t nearly as flashy as the male, but she exudes a dainty presence, highlighted with a brush of orange along her flank.  Well done!
