GreatBirdPic’s Bird Photograph of the Week – 9/12/25

There were lots of Great Bird Pics to choose from this week, but I was drawn to this shot of a Yellow-headed Blackbird and a Red-winged Blackbird.  I’ve seen both birds before, but never in the same shot.  Bajadreamer admits to using some Photoshop magic to make both birds appear in focus, as they weren’t in the same focal plane.   By taking a shot of one bird in focus and then quickly shifting the to the other bird, refocusing, and taking a second shot, he was able to combine the two focused subjects into the same frame.  Click his pic to read more about this Photoshop technique.
