Since nobody can upload pics I will be going into the archives of our 16,000 Great Bird Pics and feature shots you may not have noticed. Today I’m showcasing Sylvester Alphonso’s photos. Sylvester lives in Mumbai, India and travels to various parks in the region to see birds. He does a particularly good job of telling us about the species in his Description so click on the pics below to learn more about these birds that are practically unknown by most of us.
We’ll start with a pair of Spotted Owlets. Sylvester says that this is a male and female couple.
One of my favorite birds I’ve seen in Africa is the Lilac-breasted Roller. Well in India, they have an Indian Roller and Sylvester got a nice closeup of it.
Here’s a Red-breasted Parakeet Sylvester photographed in Kaziranga Park, Assam, India. Beautiful colors!
Finally, Sylvester shared this shot of a White-cheeked Turaco. You might recall the Krysna Turaco I loved seeing in South Africa – this is one of its relatives.
