Now You See It, Continued

I have been exploring the topic of AI Generation/Cloning/Healing lately.  In particular, using software to remove objects from the image.  This process has become easier and better with the help of AI – in Lightroom, simply brush across the offending limb or wire and the program not only erases the object but also generates what it thinks (can AI “think”?) was hidden by the object with the click of a button.

Two weeks ago JamesD posted a before and after picture of a Northern Cardinal and wrote how he accomplished it (Click Here to read the post).  Paul Demkovich read the post and decided to try it himself.  Here are two before/after pictures from Paul.  He used the Remove tool in Topaz Photo AI to get rid of the branches.  Take a look:

In the first set of pictures Paul has captured a Ferruginous Pygmy-Owl with a big ugly branch bisecting it.  Note how the program generated what it thinks the owl looks like once the limb is gone (I assume Paul added the red tint to the final image).

Here Paul took a shot of two Smooth-billed Anis on many wires.  Note how the wire goes right through the eye on the right bird.  When Paul used Topaz AI to remove three sets of wires, again it generated what it thinks the eye (and other parts) might look like.

More to come on a topic that I find very interesting and we’ll tackle how much is too much!
