As another Sandhill Crane pair flew above this guy he abruptly launched into a massive bugling binge to announce his own territory. The bugling sound of a Sandhill Crane can be heard for 2.5 miles.
I used to live in Middleton, Wisconsin next to Pheasant Branch Conservancy. There were at least 2 pairs living there and we could hear their calls constantly. They make great “music” and this image brings it back. Thanks

Love the sandhill pic! I’ve certainly heard them enough times but can’t say I’ve seen one in this position before.
