We looked up from the trail at saw this confrontation between the Red-tailed Hawk and American Crow. The photo with the Red-tailed Hawk upside down was pure luck and a surprise when I looked at the photos.

I had a similar experience a couple of years ago – saw two birds coming at each other and when I got home found one was flying upside down. The action is called “whiffling.” Great shot of the hawk and crow.
