Crimson-rumped Toucanet

Iconic Bird

Viewed 24 Times

When visiting the neotropics there are certain birds that are iconic. The Toucan family certainly qualifies for that Icon status. This is one of the smaller toucans, a Crimson-rumped Toucanet. This image was taken at the San Tadeo near Mindo, Ecuador. Beyond the beak, look at the subtle colors and color changes of this bird. Virtually a rainbow of colors.
Shot with a Canon R5, 600 mm f/4.0 lens.

It looks like it was pretty dark in the area where you got the picture of the Toucanet. Great job of capturing the shot with all the colors. Such an amazing bird. Thanks for sharing it with us.
