Franklin's Gull

Blue hour photography

Viewed 36 Times

This non-breeding Franklin’s Gull was a rare visitor for the area.. I was on the beach before sunrise and noticed this gull flying around the shoreline looking for a early meal.. I was fortunate to be in the right area, with the right equipment, at the right time… this is how you find rare birds in your area,, go out often and increase your chances..

At 1/500 second you did a great job of catching him at the right moment. I like the blue light color cast. It definitely gives me that “being cold at dawn” feel.
