This is another image where I use foliage right in front of my lens to obscure the bird. But here, it addition to the color cast that it gives the image, the obscuring serves a second purpose. The background for the image would have been quite messy and distracting. But due to the obscuring foliage, the background is smoothed, and the remaining leaves around the yellow-rumped all appear to point towards the bird, leading the viewer through the image.
