Ringed Kingfisher

We left Coca, Ecuador in a motorized canoe, traveling down the Napa River to the Sacha Lodge. At one point our guide called out, the boat stopped and turned around. This Ringed Kingfished was perched on the branches of a tree that was submerged in the river. What a great spot!

Not sure if it’s the photo but his head appears to be out of proportion with his body. Beautiful picture!
