Every spring mother Mallards bring their offspring to Lake Michigan. This youngster was in line behind its mother when it decided to stop for a snack (maybe) from the piling. The rocks along the interior of the channel and this piling most of the time have green algae on them. Ducks appear to scrape the algae off the rocks.
