It is a small migratory bird known for its glossy blue black upper parts distinctive rufous red rump and mud pellet nest found across Asia Europe and Africa it is known for its graceful slow and buoyant flight often during hunting insects over open hilly areas. They have dark blue upper parts a dark rufous or reddish collar and rump and dusky under parts. They build their nest in building complex. They hunt beetles, moths and flying ants in mid air. They are often seen in groups during migration or hunting in flocks over watter or near live stock.
