Yellow footed green pigeon is also known as yellow legged green pigeon. It is a state bird of Maharashtra. In marathi it is called haroli or hariyal. It is known as Haitha in upper assam and haitol in lower assam. Males are larger and brighter featuring a distinct a maroon patch on the wings shoulders and golden yellow wash on the breast, Females lack this wing patch and are duller more greyish green, The incubation period is for 23 days breeding season is from march to June both male and female share duties. They take turns by sitting on eggs about 2.5 hours at a time. The female does the primary share of brooding
