Wedge-rumped Storm-Petrel
We spent 8 days in the Galápagos Islands traveling to 10 islands looking for the specialty birds on each.
We saw thousands of Wedge-rumped Storm Petrels flying over their breeding colony on lava flats on North Seymour Island. The target bird here was actually a Short-eared Owl that lives along side the Storm Petrels uses them as a food source.
We were able to spot at least two Short-eared Owls and watched one of them consuming a Storm Petrel.
