This one is browner than the ones I have in my backyard right now. I wonder if they change color in the spring?
Male or female??
The ones around us now are black on top and white below. Looking up Slate-colored Juncos for our area, the ones we’re seeing are males. The brown ones are females. All I see are black and white – never seen a brown one here in the winter so I’m thinking I should look harder.
Wow! The feathers are so clearly seen!
