Eastern Meadowlark

My Namesake

Yes my maiden name really is Lark. I found it funny that so many folks in my Birding Facebook groups have created names like Carol Wren and Joe Swallowtail. They probably think my name is made up too . . . lol

I am still trying to get a better photo of my namesake, this is the best I’ve gotten so far. I’ve found them to be rather shy and skittish if I’m too close, and if they are still they are usually too far away. This was the closest I’ve been but it was pretty windy that day and the camera was struggling to focus.
