The Prodigal Swan?

This Mute Swan showed up on my backyard pond during a spring snowstorm a year or so ago. The previous owners of my house reportedly had a pair of mated swans they kept as “pets” on the property for a number of years. While I don’t know what the fate of those swans was, it made me wonder if this was one of them or one of their offspring returning to the roost.
