Broad-wing Hawk Snatches Prey Right in Front of me. After landing on the street light in front of our home, this Hawk ignored me as I photographed him. I waited for a flight shot. To my surprise, in addition to a flight shot, this hawk landed in my neighbor’s front yard right across the street from me. I will concede that I did not quite anticipate the fact that this guy landed on a small prey (mouse apparently) and then flew off with it. On this account I might have zoomed back a bit to avoid clipping the wings. I am not sure if this “works” for all critics.
