As we stopped at Anchorage Marina to see how the possible nesting Ospreys were doing, we spotted one of the Ospreys flying back and forth with sticks for the nest. It would fly down to a smaller branched tree and break off small branches on the far side of the tree and fly to the nesting site on the cell tower. This is the second year they have nested on this cell tower.
The Osprey’s back and wings are dark brown mixed with white spots and changing the photo to black and white emphasized the feather patterns. The change to B&W shows the feather texture of the underwings and strength of the talons better than the original photo.
Who knows how many times the Osprey travels back and forth until it feels the nest is “just right” for a family.
