Zaratwitstra is one of our newest members to Great Bird Pic and he lives in Panama City, Panama. He has been sharing some pictures of the colorful birds there that land on his balcony to feed. Wouldn’t you like to wake up each morning to find one of these beautiful birds right out your back window?
One of my favorite tropical birds is the Red-legged Honeycreeper. The colors are so vivid on this little bird. Sharp focus!
I really like the composition of this next photograph. The Bay-headed Tanager on the left has the same color on its head as the leaves of the bromeliad on the right. Well done Zaratwitstra!
Lastly, this juvenile Hepatic Tanager visits his balcony regularly. He notes that there is a bit of green beneath the tail that is leftover from the plumage when it was younger.
