Last week I shared four photographs of the same White-breasted Nuthatch and asked, “Which one is best”? If you would like to review all four pictures before reading on CLICK HERE.
Sometimes responses to similar questions have been pretty varied but in this case 60% liked Number 3 the best. There were varied opinions about the background in Number 3 – some thought it was too busy, others thought it added to the pic. A couple of people acknowledged that this bird is a hard one to photograph; perhaps because it is usually on the trunk of the tree so it doesn’t stand out. However in Number 3 it is on the side of the trunk so it presented a nice profile (they usually aren’t so cooperative). This view also shows more of the bird than the other views.
Twenty percent of the replies like Number 1, citing the open beak looking like “talking” as a reason. Numbers 2 and 4 both got 10% of the vote.
They are all GreatBirdPics but I have to agree with the majority that Number 3 is the best of the lot because it really captures the bird well.
Thanks for voting! Do you like this kind of “exercise”? Let me know and I do it again next time I agonize over which of many pictures to keep!
