“Birds of Prey With Prey” Honorable Mentions.2

Thanks again to all the photographers who submitted their Great Bird Pics for the contest – I very much enjoyed viewing each and every one of them.  We narrowed down the entries to eight shots, and after selecting the winner, the remaining seven were awarded Honorable Mentions. Yesterday the first set of Honorable Mentions in our “Birds of Prey With Prey” Contest were announced.  Here are remaining three of the Honorable Mention photographs (in no particular order).

In many of the contest entries the “prey” was a fish or bird.  Bajadreamer’s Lesser Kestrel caught a grasshopper and he took the picture at a great angle.  Wonderful browns in this photograph.

Here’s the second of Ron Zigler’s Honorable Mention photographs.  Xwinger really liked the water in the background and I appreciated the sharpness of the focus.  Great Bird Pic, Ron!

Paul Demkovich’s trip to the Galapagos Islands was a great photographic journey and he’s shared many of his photos with us.  He submitted several versions of this Galapagos Hawk with a lizard for the contest and Xwinger and I both agreed this was his best.

Another successful contest has concluded.  Thanks to all the authors who shared their Great Bird Pics with us and thanks also to all of you who were cheering them on with your comments.  Another contest coming in a couple of months and I’m always open to suggestions as to what our next topic should be.
