I was watching this Ring-billed Gull as it stood patiently on the rock looking down at the water. I looked out over the water and after a bit I noticed movement out of the corner of my eye. To my surprise this gull went headfirst into the water I assume after a small fish it spotted. It came up empty numerous times. This was one of photos I was able to capture that shows it in an upright position and its head under water. There is a lot of feather detail on the right side of the photo.
